Contemporary Chic
When Chris and Christal from Zoubild bought a family home, they could see past the 80s Italianate façade to the chic and contemporary family home of their dreams.
I carried their internal palette of concrete, black and herringbone timber to the exterior. The large façade and internal atrium were softened with greenery and planting to spill over the first-floor terraces.
The rear yard was a blank slate that resembled a bowling alley. To combat these proportions, it was divided into zones by building an external fireplace to create a focal point and hide the services area. Particular attention paid to planting the back yard as a focus for the large glass splashback window in the kitchen.
The contemporary materials and plantings have complimented the internal renovations to create a seamless transition from indoor to outdoor living.
